Matthew Kingsland
Matthew was called to the bar in 2025 and accepts briefs in all areas of law, with a particular interest in commercial disputes and class actions. Prior to coming to the Bar, Matthew was a Senior Associate at Banton Group, a boutique litigation firm with a focus on high-value commercial disputes, including class actions and insolvency disputes.
Matthew has extensive experience acting for class action group members, shareholders, liquidators, investment funds and high net worth individuals throughout Australia in disputes spanning a broad range of industries including building and construction, financial services, mining, manufacturing, information technology and professional services.
Matthew is also a Teaching Fellow at the University of New South Wales where he coaches the UNSW team for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
Matthew holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Science (Pharmacology) (with Distinction) from the University of New South Wales.
