Phillip regularly appears in the Supreme Court of NSW and the Federal Court of Australia.

Phillip has a general commercial dispute practice (including real property, equity and contract disputes) and is regarded highly for his ability to deal with complex cases both factually and legal issues. He appears regularly, both unled and led, in the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Federal Court.

Phillip has been briefed in some of the States high profile case, such as the case brought against Deutsche Bank, Citibank and their senior executives by the ACCC and CDPP for cartel conduct in relation to the large secondary offering in ANZ shares (which was later abandoned). He has represented mining companies and been involved in numerous property development cases – many of which settle prior to hearing. Phillip has also been briefed in many consumer law matters dealing with misleading and deceptive conduct.

Phillip was awarded the degree Juris Doctor at the University of New South Wales- where he graduated with distinction. He then went on to read for his Masters of Law (LLM) at the University of Sydney. Phillip was merit scholar in economics, majoring in econometrics and statistics and later undertook a masters degree in Quantitative Finance at the University of Technology Sydney. He was transferred with his employer to Tokyo before he could complete it.

Before joining the Bar, Phillip worked in New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo in the financial markets for 2 of the world’s largest banks. Having been a Managing Director in financial markets specializing in derivatives trading and later in senior management roles, Phillip brings unique commercial expertise and acumen to the table when acting for his clients.
