Sefton Powrie
Sefton accepts briefs in all areas of law, with a particular interest in commercial disputes. Prior to coming to the Bar, Sefton practised as a solicitor for 10 years, most recently at Gilbert + Tobin where he managed complex commercial litigation matters in the Federal Court of Australia, the Supreme Courts of New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland and private arbitral tribunals.
His broad commercial practice includes particular experience in insolvency law, competition and consumer law, class actions and regulatory enforcement matters.
Sefton holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and is currently completing a Master of Laws at the University of Melbourne.
Sefton is admitted to practice in both Australia and New Zealand.
